I do realize these are very hot areas in the summer, even by Vegas standards Kingman being slightly cooler , so I am prepared for that. My situation is somewhat unique. I am 32 and single.

What if I had, right here inside my boat, all the stuff I needed to eat and sleep and be comfortable for a night? But be careful; it was exactly this sort of fanciful reasoning that caused many a voyageur and mountain man to head for the woods, never to be seen again. Following are some tips and pointers to help make your own overnight kayak-camping adventures a bit more enjoyable. Kayak camping is not as restrictive as backpacking, but almost.
Even much of your favorite gear that is easily swallowed by a canoe will have to be left behind when kayak camping, so some strict discipline is in order. Your bags should be color coded for organization, and perhaps even labeled with identifying tags. Heavy vinyl bags are alright for food, as they are more resistant to puncture and probably allow less bear-attracting odor to waft through the woods, but they stubbornly stick to one another when packing into the boat.
Most of my favorite bags are instead made of lightweight nylon or polyester fabric with an internal rubberized waterproof coating. Though perhaps requiring a bit more care to prevent punctures, these bags easily slide past one another when jammed into a cargo compartment, making packing more efficient.

Boaters will see the California shoreline to the West and the Arizona shoreline to the East. By the time the water leveled off, Havasu’s eastern shoreline was in Arizona and the western shoreline, three miles away, was in California. The mile-long lake provided water to San Diego and Los Angeles, and hydroelectric power to more than 70 municipalities. Lake Havasu operated as planned. Then Robert McCulloch flew over the lake in looking for a place to build outboard motors he was already building chainsaws.
He bought some land for his factory and then bought another 3, acres with the idea that this would be a good place for a planned community. Wood, who designed the layout for Disneyland to assist and within a few years, three plants were manufacturing two-stroke outboard engines and some of his employees were living in the planned development called Lake Havasu City. The bridge was old, built in , and would have to be disassembled into more than 10, pieces of granite weighing a total of more than 22 million tons.
But there was one other little problem with the idea: The structure was put back together on a peninsula called Pittsburgh Point, and then McCulloch dredged a mile-long channel under the new London Bridge. Today, Pittsburgh Point is called “the island” because, well, that’s exactly what it is now and the channel, now called the Bridgewater Channel Canal, is known for having restaurants and docks on both sides, a no-wake zone, and being exceptionally crowded with boats on weekends.
It’s at the mid point of Lake Havasu’s length and is, literally, the center of activity. And there’s a lot of activity these days. For example, recently the movie “Pirahna 3D” opens across the country.
